The traction control reduces the engine power when the slip reaches a certain value.
This value and also the slip values versus velocity can be set in the TC EDIT page on the slip/velocity graph. Having a smaller slip value means that the traction control starts earlier and the car will behave more stable on the track. This also means that the engine will provide less power when the car starts and accelerate at the end of the bends, so the acceleration will decrease.
Having a greater slip value will provide a better acceleration but a lower grip in slipping conditions.
Try to adjust the traction control to have a slip value that will help you to stay on the track when cornering, but great enough at lower speed to avoid losing the acceleration.
Also you can choose to play with one of four presented options: 0%, 100% and var.
Choose 0% if you want to have no traction control assistance, 100% to have slip ratios at minimum values or var to set yourself the slip ratios values.
